History
In 2023, one year after Marlon passed, his friends banded together to raise funds and coordinate a memorial bass tournament through the Levi’s Pennies from Heaven non-profit, which was near and dear to Marlon’s heart.
We couldn’t have predicted how successful it would be! It was the largest payout tournament on Deep Creek Lake, Maryland, and has continued to be so for the past three years
(Marlon would be impressed).
Since that first tournament, we’ve been growing in boaters and community support.

The Marlon Whoolery Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in June 2025 for charitable and educational purposes, including raising funds and supporting community activities related to fishing conservation, angler support, union/labor support, research initiatives for cancer and Parkinson’s disease, and supporting his community.
